MetaFab®

Advanced Electromagnetic Shielding for a Connected World

A high-performance metallized fabric engineered for electromagnetic isolation, signal integrity, and operational reliability.

01

MetaFab® for Electromagnetic Shielding

MetaFab® is a metallized technical fabric developed by KGS. It meets the highest standards of electromagnetic shielding and signal control. Used in sectors where precision and safety are critical, MetaFab® provides consistent performance in real-world conditions.

It attenuates electromagnetic fields (EMF), suppresses electromagnetic interference (EMI), and blocks radiofrequency (RF) signals. It is conductive, flexible, and durable, suitable for both open and enclosed environments.

02

Field-Proven Across Critical Sectors

MetaFab® is trusted by leading organizations in aerospace, defense, maritime, industrial infrastructure, and secure communications. Its versatility lies in both its structure and proven performance in complex real-world conditions:

Naval Vessels

Large-scale EMF shielding in minehunters, creating a floating Faraday cage

Aerospace

Shielding of wiring systems in military and commercial aircraft

Secure Architecture

Shielded tribunal courtrooms for electromagnetic isolation

03

Shielding Mechanism

MetaFab® is a multi-layer metallized textile engineered with conductive elements to reflect, absorb, and dissipate electromagnetic radiation.
It is built on high-tensile substrates such as polyester, aramid, or copper mesh, and coated with metals like nickel or copper.

Lightweight, flexible, and highly durable, MetaFab® is also conductive and scalable, making it suitable for both compact components and large-scale shielding systems.

01/

A barrier to incoming/outgoing RF

MetaFab® blocks electromagnetic radiation from entering or leaving protected areas.

02/

A shield for cables and infrastructure

Used around cables and systems to reduce interference and protect signal integrity.

03/

A layer in EMF-controlled clothing or enclosures

Flexible enough for use in technical enclosures, shielding panels, or partitioned zones.

04/

A solution for EMI mitigation and signal clarity

Helps reduce noise and improve signal performance in sensitive settings.

Why Engineers Choose MetaFab®

As electromagnetic exposure increases, so does the need for control. MetaFab® addresses this by providing shielding at the material level: no energy source, no software, no added bulk. Used in extreme conditions, MetaFab® is stable, passive, and proven.

  • Material type: Metallized woven and non-woven textile
  • Electrical conductivity: <0.5 Ω/sq (depending on configuration)
  • Shielding effectiveness: 40–90 dB (frequency-dependent)
  • Operating temperature: -10°C to +90°C
  • Thickness: 50µm to 560µm
  • Weight: 56 to 300 g/m²
  • Custom laminations: Available upon request
